(GTT)Glucose Tolerance Test
This is a blood test performed to diagnose diabetes, or gestational diabetes. A blood test is taken early in the morning, after fasting from the night before. You would then drink a glucose drink, that we will give you, in the surgery, and you would have a further blood test performed 1 hour after the initial blood test, and a further blood test an hour after that, if you are pregnant.
Test results are usually back within 5 working days.
Please inform the reception staff that you require this blood test as we need to allocate two appointment slots for you.
